Bellisio's earns Wine Spectator award for 27th straight year

Bellisio's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar has again been recognized by Wine Spectator, earning a 2026 Best of Award of Excellence and extending one of the longest-running award streaks for a Minnesota restaurant.

The Canal Park restaurant has received the honor every year since opening in 1999, placing it among the state's longest-tenured recipients. According to Wine Spectator, Bellisio's is one of 24 Minnesota restaurants recognized in 2026 and trails only the St. Paul Grill in consecutive years receiving the distinction.

The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards, established in 1981, recognize restaurants with outstanding wine programs at three levels: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award. This year, 2,083 restaurants received the Award of Excellence, 1,830 earned the Best of Award of Excellence and 99 received the Grand Award.

According to Wine Spectator, Best of Award of Excellence recipients demonstrate extensive wine selections spanning multiple wine-growing regions or significant vertical collections from leading producers, along with superior presentation.

"The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink. As wine drinkers grow more mindful, restaurants are adapting with creative wine programs," said Marvin R. Shanken, Chairman and CEO, Wine Spectator. "Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success."

Bellisio's General Manager Sarah Runser said the recognition reflects the restaurant's long-term commitment to its wine program and customer experience.

"Receiving this prestigious honor is a milestone we never take for granted," said Runser. "To earn continued recognition from Wine Spectator at this level is a testament to our team's tireless dedication to delivering an unparalleled dining and wine experience for our guests."

Wine Spectator's annual Restaurant Awards issue will be published July 21.

Bellisio's, part of the Grandma's Inc. family of restaurants, opened in Canal Park in 1999 and is known for its Italian cuisine and extensive wine list.
