Duluth Airport Authority completes audit of new parking system

The Duluth Airport Authority implemented a new parking system in 2023. The new cashless system allows contact-free payment from entry to exit. The new system included updated technology that was intended to create a better customer experience.

Following the completion of a recent internal system audit, it was determined that .5% of the parking fees processed through this system were overcharged due to a calculation error totaling $7,643 and affecting 505 customers. Individuals affected have been refunded the amount they were overcharged.

“We apologize to the individuals affected by this error but are glad the issue was discovered and corrected," said Tom Werner, Executive Director of the Duluth Airport Authority. "Our passengers are our number one priority and it was important to make this right.”
