Sonterre-Rieger named a Board of Trustees Outstanding Educator

The Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence acknowledge and provide systemwide recognition for consistently superior commitment to student learning and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence at the colleges and universities of Minnesota State.

Lake Superior College Nursing Faculty Tracy Sonterre-Rieger was named an Outstanding Educator as the Minnesota State Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence were announced recently.

Sonterre-Rieger equips her nursing students for success through innovative and engaging learning experiences. From sepsis management simulations and role-play exercises to reverse case studies where students create scenarios based on real patient cases, she ensures hands-on learning. She also coordinates meaningful clinical experiences that further enhance student preparation.

The Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence acknowledge and provide systemwide recognition for consistently superior commitment to student learning and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence at the colleges and universities of Minnesota State.

The 2025 Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence luncheon was held earlier on Wednesday.
